I have been remiss in posting updates but here is the scoop. We are moved in. Praise the Lord! We have closed on the house (10/12/11). Thank you, Jesus. We are mostly unpacked. Halleluia!

I took my grandkids on a video tour using Facetime and my granddaughter, Bradie, saw the boxes still in the garage. She said, “Grandma, you still have boxes to unpack?” Wonder where she gets that from, huh!

We are so blessed and are loving our new home. In a few more weeks, we will be having an open house. Meanwhile, I still have some boxes to unpack.

Rainbow

So, check out the totally cool double rainbow that was right over our new house just before we left for dinner. Our builder thinks it might be a good sign!

Needed – One Occupancy Permit

Why do I always stress myself out when I know God is faithful and He will provide in His time, not my time. The landscaping is done and is beautiful. The house is clean. One final inspection by the city is needed and then they will issue the occupancy permit. We are praying that God will have it done tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow we will empty out the apartment, clean and then shampoo the carpets. Then we will get the rental truck and load it full of all our things. Once we sign a temporary rental agreement after the occupancy permit is issued, we can start moving in.

We are getting very close to being done and able to move in. We will either close this week or do a temporary rental agreement prior to closing. We walked through today and there was very little to correct. They had completed some landscaping and cleaning. It is such a beautiful house and we are so blessed. The master bathroom is gorgeous. Enjoy the pictures.

Lights, Gutters, Driveway…

We have an outside porch light, garage light and a doorbell. We have gutters. We have a driveway, steps, and a porch. I can’t wait to walk through and see what has been happening on the inside. It is getting close.

Forms and Concrete… Again

We love the exterior paint color. What do you think? So the main color is called … cardboard. I like it. But since we are packing and surrounded by boxes it could just be that I am used to the color.

We are praying for everything to come together so we can close on September 30th. Keep us in your prayers for that. We need to be out of our current apartment by then. Fortunately, our landlord is giving us a few days grace but we don’t want to take too much advantage of that.

The builders are working as hard as they can to help make it happen. We have lights in the house! We have forms for the concrete pour of the driveway, porch, extra parking, and patio. We haven’t been inside for about a week but are going to schedule a walk through this week, maybe Thursday.

So, I am both excited and slightly bummed. The schedule projects the house to be done around September 28th now. But I know all of this is in God’s hand and He has a plan. So, I just need to change some dates on some of the things I scheduled.

The french drains are in and they did a bit of landscaping with more to come. They terraced the side yard which is pretty cool.

The other pictures are mostly of the different flooring installations. I really like how everything is coming together. The color choices for everything are coordinating well.

Tommorrow they will paint the outside so stay tuned for those pictures.

Mexican Sand

You know how the builder asked us about the paint color? Well, they painted it the original color. It is called Mexican Sand. The second choice was called Practical Beige. As you will see from the pictures, Mexican Sand is perfect with the different tile choices. And it sounds so much more exotic, right?

Things are progressing nicely. Can you believe the house is supposed to be complete next week on the 15th? I believe it. Check out the new pictures. It is so cool!

Packing

So, they applied the texture to the sheetrock at the end of last week. Interior painting is underway. We have not been inside since last week so no new pictures of the house.

Friday was a busy day as we had to go to the bank and sign some paperwork in prepartion for our mortgage loan. We locked in our rate at 4%. We received a call from the builder that the painter was concerned that our paint color for the interior was too dark so we picked another color. We also picked out the exterior color from the 4 we had to choose from. But then we drove through the neighborhood and saw that the house directly across from us was almost the same color scheme. So, we asked the builder if we could change it. Hopefully, he had not ordered the paint yet for the outside.

God continues to bless and I wonder at His patience with me. I go from high to low so quickly. I so easily second guess and start to doubt. Just because we had an unexpected fee for the mortgage loan and the email paperwork didn’t arrive on Friday as expected, I begin to panic. I know He has been with us through this whole process and I can trust Him. Forgive me, Lord.

So, now to share some of my OCD tendencies. Here are some pictures of the packing that is underway. I have a process that worked very well the last time we moved. My family is so kind as to humor me. Check out the pictures. Packing is well under way.

Locking Up!

We walked through the house yesterday and what a difference some sheetrock, tape, and mud make! And a garage door! We are just weeks away from closing and moving. We have been so blessed to be working with the builders we have. They ensure quality work is being done throughout.

Electric and Gas are connected. Also, oddly enough Qwest installed a box that no one ordered. The builder is checking that out and getting it removed. The cabinets will be delivered to the house soon and the front door has a temporary lock on it. With the garage door in, they can lock up the house. Amazing! They started July 3, how is it possible.
